Roaming Lily & Fooling Around with Daddy (Week 34)

"Look where I am!"

Lily is very proud of herself...she has managed to get one leg stuck under the chair.

"Um, could you maybe help me...mommy? Daddy? Anyone?"

Hurricane Lily hits the Couper home.

"Look where I am now!" Lily likes wedging her self between pieces of furniture. We're not sure why. She thinks that wearing pink leopard spots will help her camouflage herself so we can't find her.

Daddy and the little bug are at *work* one afternoon...

Taking a break from work. Hmm...doesn't look much different from when they are at work together!!! :) What a pair.

A pair of cutie pies...

It all makes sense now...THIS is where Lily gets the tongue-sticking-out-thing!!

This time daddy keeps his tongue in.

Ooops - spoke too soon!

"Oh daddy, I think YOU are the silly one!" Silly Dilly.

Happy Mother's Day! (Week 33)

May 9, 2010 - Mother's Day! We take a family walk around the seawall to 2nd beach (just before Stanley Park) and find a nice spot at English Bay under a tree to have a picnic.

Mommy calls her mommy to wish her a happy day, while Lily checks out the clouds.

Lily thinks the whole cloud watching thing is pretty entertaining.

The three of us! Lily didn't want to wear her sunglasses, so she keeps her eyes closed alot.

She hasn't seen grass up close before (spring rains prevented them from getting acquainted until now)...

"Oh, hello! Do you like my hairdo??"

Lily is very gentle with the grass. Surprisingly, she doesn't try to eat it. Mommy and daddy are shocked.

It was a long walk!! Lily falls asleep on the way home and finds somewhere to rest her head. It doesn't look very comfortable, but seems to be working for her.

Mr. Froggie is passed out facedown, too. It was a good afternoon!!

Swimming Lessons! (Week 33)

"Who me? What was that you said? You like my little pink heart bathing suit? Why thank you...you are too kind."

"Hi daddy! Look at me!"

Lily chases the ball. With her mouth. Awesome!

Playing fishy in the middle with the other kids. One little boy tried to pull off her bathing suit. Lily just looked at him...and let him. Oh boy, are we in trouble!

Splashing with her hands...

Kicking with her feet...

Lily lets us know exactly what she thinks of wearing a PFD. She can be very subtle at times.

She decided she would indulge us and tolerate it for the moment.

"Mommy, you are not fooling me into thinking this is fun so you may as well stop making funny faces at me."

Daddy and Lily go under the "bridge."

"Hi mommy! Look at us!!"

Lily misses the concept of blowing bubbles, but she figures out how to put her mouth in the water.

When mommy isn't looking she tastes and swallows the water.

"Ok, that wasn't too bad..."

"I think I'll try it again!"

"It didn't taste as good that time!"

Lily after being submerged briefly (like for half a second). The swimming instructor showed us how to blow up the baby's nose so they have a startle reflex and hold their breath, and then you pull them under the surface of the water towards you as fast as possible for the briefest of moments.

"What the heck did you do THAT for???? Mommy I am NOT pleased. I was having a perfectly good time splashing around. Man, I thought that PFD thing was as bad as it could be. I was wrong."

Lily is soon distracted by a waterfall, and forget all about the underwater *trauma.*

"I like riding my water horsie with mommy."

"And I like this flutter board too!"

"But I especially like eating boats."

"It's even more fun when daddy helps!"

"Look at us, mommy!"

Well, there had to be at least one super silly Lily picture.

And also a super not-silly one :)

A very pleased little Lily. "I think daddy should come to all my swimming lessons."

Close-Ups & Two Tiny Teeth (Week 33)

Lily's many faces....this series of photos needs no editorial comments....the pictures kind of speak for themselves. If we only knew what she was really thinking....

Daddy tries to get her to open her mouth at the end so he can take a picture of her two tiny bottom teeth...he finally succeeds!!
