Dylan's B-Day BBQ

The girls are almost dressed and looking pretty, and the house is clean and ready for our guests...time to have a BBQ party to celebrate Daddy's birthday!  He didn't get much of a party on his real birthday several weeks ago  because he was painting, tiling and installing a new range hood in the kitchen as Mommy's Mother's Day present.  What a star.

Leyla, Ever and Lily play in her crib.

Unfortunately it's a rainy day so our plans to sit out on the patio and go to the park to play games are thwarted.  As a back-up, Shaun brings his X-Box and we have a car racing tournament.

Mommy gives it a try.  She has a hard time keeping the car on the road.  And away from the walls that she keeps smashing into.

Uncle Shaun-y loans Lily his lap to rest on.

Lily brings Eeyore to snuggle with Uncle Keith, and puts a blanket on them to keep them both warm.

Auntie Camille snuggles Lily and Amelia finds Uncle Keith's lap to sit on.

Lily finds a new spot for Eeyore...on Uncle Keith's head.  He is very patient.

Amelia gets a boost from Uncle Bulent.

Lily decides Uncle Keith needs a diaper change.  Did I mention he is very patient??

"Peek-a-boo Amelia!"  She is hard to impress sometimes.

Lily finds Uncle Brian's lap to sit on...

...while Amelia keeps Auntie Camille hopping!

Hmmm...no pictures of Daddy!  He confirms, however, that he had a fantastic time and is glad everyone was able to come and join in his celebration!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!  A perfect morning...Lily is reading a book, and Mommy is feeding baby, while her favourite breakfast (bacon, eggs & toast - made by Daddy) awaits!

Auntie Jill and Uncle Matt come over in the afternoon and take Lily to the park.  This is them after they return.  They all wore each other out.

Lily is sad when she learns that she needs to take a bath before bed.  We have learned our lesson.  We will not mention the b-a-t-h word until 5 minutes before it is time to have one.  Apparently it can ruin your day.

Mommy consoles Lily.

Lily eventually forgets about the bath and is happy knowing that dinner is coming soon!

Mommy and Amelia practice standing in the living room.
Mommy is so proud!

Amelia plays peek-a-boo with Daddy following her afternoon nap.

Another crazy smiley camera face...

Snuggling Sisters

Lily likes to give Amelia what she calls "backwards hugs"...

...and Amelia likes it too!

Lily also likes to climb in Amelia's crib with her to keep her company and "protect" her from the sound of the vacuum when it is turned on.

"Hi Amelia!  Do you want to play pat-a-cake?"

Playing Outside

One sunny afternoon Mommy and Amelia go to the park.

She seems to really like the swing...

...especially with bare feet!  It doesn't take long for her to kick off both her socks and squeal like a little mouse!

Playing Inside

Happy Sunday!  What a nice way to spend the morning.

Mommy and Meelie hang out in Lily's bedroom.

Amelia shows off her standing skills.  She can now stand on her own for a few seconds before toppling over.

Amelia goes on a little exploration and checks out Daddy's bag.

She is starting to learn to make funny faces when the light from the camera flashes.  We think she is trying to mimic Lily, and that this is her version of a smile :)

This is another version of her camera smile!

Amelia wakes up from her nap one day and plays with her *friends* in her crib.

Lily gets brave one day and decides to make friends with her biggest nemesis...the dreaded vacuum!!  She still thinks it is too loud...

...but when it is not plugged in or turned out, she thinks it's pretty cool.  She make vroom noises and says she is helping to clean up.  Cool! Then at one point she announces that "Lily is so sweet, like a banana."  We laugh at her and Daddy says he didn't realize bananas are sweet.  So then she announces "Lily is so sweet, like an apple!"  We are not sure where this came from or what it has to do with vacuuming, but it is pretty darned funny.

Meelie must have had a reaaaaallly good nap.  She wakes up very happy!

Oh no, it's the beginning of the end!  Amelia figures out how to crawl up stairs.  Look out!!

Mommy Arrives Home from Bermuda

Mommy arrives home from Bermuda late one Saturday night in early May, and Lily is still awake in her bed.  She is sooooo happy to see Mommy!

We hug and kiss and smile...
...again...

...and again!!!  Mommy had a great trip, but is happy to be home!!

Mommy and Daddy share the last piece of black forest cake she put in the freezer for him to enjoy while she was away.  Mommy is impressed that he was able to save a piece!!

Mommy Loves her Angels

Sometimes we like to snuggle on the couch...

...and sometimes we like to sit on the floor at the entrance to the kitchen and watch Daddy while he makes dinner.

Still other times Mommy likes to lay in the  hallway and let the kids climb on her.

It is fun for everyone!

Adventures with Amelia

Sometimes when Amelia wakes up from her nap, she pulls the cover of the bassinett over her face...

...and needs help getting out!

"Hi Mommy!"

"Thank you for giving me a haircut!  Now I can see my food and not get so much of it in my hair."

"I will wait patiently until you are ready to give me some more.  I really enjoyed those prunes."

"This is not my most flattering picture.  I really hope you don't pull it out and show everybody when I am older :) "

"This one is much nicer!  Well, except for the food all over my face."

Lily comes into the kitchen to visit with her sister and see how things are going.

Amelia wants to know when she can wear a fancy butterfly headband too!
