Halloween!!!

Auntie Jill comes a few days early for Lily's Halloween costume fitting. It is a bit of a struggle to get it on. Lily is VERY excited!

Lily, er, *Eeyore* rests for a few seconds...

...then hauls herself up...head in tact...

"Surprise, Daddy, its ME!!!"

Daddy was very shocked and surprised to see a 3 foot tall Eeyore running towards him when he walked through the door!

Lily, sorry, EEYORE, skypes with Baba & Grampa Hunter so they can see her Halloween costume.

" Peekaboo!"

"I fooled you!"

Where's Lily??

Halloween Monday - Auntie Jill and Mommy ride down in the elevator so Lily the Eeyore can go trick-or-treating at the shops in Yaletown.

Lily is so excited she runs away!

" Oh hi! It's me!"

Time to hit the streets!

Lily gets excited again and does a little happy dance...

...which includes putting her head in Mommy's butt...

...where it stays for at least a block...

...and likely would have stayed if Mommy hadn't had to take Meelie home...baby was having a fussy day :(

Lily hides some more...

...but eventually takes Auntie Jill's and Uncle Matt's hands and ventures forth...

...she gets some candy from the first store, and then she is off!!

The three of them eventually have a successful candy gathering trip...

Looking forward to next year!

Friends Come for a Visit

September 5, 2011 - Auntie Camille stops by on her way home from Williams Lake to meet Amelia. She doesn't even go home first, she is so anxious to meet her!

Lily points out Amelia's hair to Auntie Camille - you know, in case she didn't notice it herself!

Auntie Diana comes later that evening. There is nothing quite like holding a tiny newborn!

They are so precious :)

Mommy's friend Meredith is one of the first people to meet Amelia - we stop at the Elysian cafe on West Broadway and meet her there after Amelia's newborn hearing screening test.

Auntie Cecilia is very happy to come and hold the bean the first week she is at home so Mommy can keep the hair appointment she made when she thought the baby was arriving Sept. 11th.

September 14, 2011 - Amelia's first bookclub meeting! Auntie Camille loans the bean her shoulder to sleep on for the majority of the evening.

Mommy, Auntie Camille and Rita with Amelia at Camille & Brian's place. It is amazing to think that one day Meelie will be able to read the books we are reading and maybe even join us to talk about them! Or maybe just to drink wine and eat cheese and other appies which we are also very good at.

Malena & Maggie are frequent visitors and each time Malena enjoys playing with Lily. During this visit, Cookie Monster keeps their attention...

...while Amelia keeps Maggie's attention...

...for quite a long time!

Lily helps Maggie blow out her birthday candles. "Happy to You!" sings Lily. She always seems to miss the "Birthday" part :)

Nana & Grampa Jim Visit Oct, 2011 Thanksgiving!!

October 8 - 10, 2011 - Nana and Grampa Jim return for another visit! Nana & Lily look at some of the many many fabulous birthday cards Lily received for her 2nd birthday. She likes to read them and name the pictures on the cards.

Nana & Lily review the most important sections of the newspaper - stocks, entertainment and fashion :)

Lily talks Uncle Matt into playing Play Doh with her. She even lets him sit on her little black chair. She can be very convincing sometimes.

"Here Uncle Matt, can you make something with the pink dough?" How can he say no? How can anybody?

Thanksgiving Monday - Family portrait!

While Thanksgiving dinner is cooking, Lily makes herself busy. She finds a creative way to get up and into Amelia's crib so that she can retrieve Amelia's butterfly baby doll for her.

She likes the fact that her bicycle has multiple functions. Here, as a stepping stool. The training wheels make it very stable.

...and she's up!! Way to think outside the box, little one! Also - love the sagging butt! Someone needs a diaper change, methinks.

Auntie Jill snuggles the bug. And Eeyore. We can't forget Eeyore!

Lily shows Amelia how she can drink her milk through a straw.

The family hangs out, waiting for the turkey to finish cooking. Clearly, everyone is more than a little pekish.

Amelia finds a really nice place to have a nap. She is very good at scoping out the prime real estate.

Sitting down to dinner...

...not wanting to be left out, Amelia *asks* for something to drink while everyone else is eating.

If she had had turkey, Amelia would be sleeping right now. But she didn't. She had milk. That probably contained at least some caffeine from all the Diet Pepsi Mommy was drinking in order to make it through the weekend. So she is awake. Very awake!

Mommy tries to feed her into a milk coma with an after dinner *snack*! Amelia has inherited her Mommy's and Daddy's good appetites, so were hoping she conks out after 6 full ounces!
