The Girls in August

Sisters in a box with bowling pins.  Strange?  Maybe.  But they seem to be having fun and there are no tears, so we see no reason to break up the fun.

When Amelia wakes up in the morning she is always happy to see Lily.  Unlike Lily, who is never happy to see anybody. She is not a morning person.

"Are you going to join me in my crib, Lily?"

"Um, let me think about it a minute, OK?"

As if there was any doubt!  Lily loves jumping in with baby in the morning.

Amelia's latest "move" is to wedge herself in the corner of the couch and stand up so she is leaning back and her hands are free.

Her biggest challenge in this endeavour is breaking free from Lily's grasp!

But she manages to do it, and waves at Daddy.

One morning Lily decides she is going to make a break for it and try to climb up the patio couch cushion blocking the sliding door (we strategically placed it there on purpose), and go outside.

We are glad she doesn't make it, and, instead, slides down the cushion backwards.  It means neither of us needs to get out of bed and retrieve her.

"Bye Mommy and Daddy!"  Clearly Amelia thinks she is leaving too.

She probably is, if Lily makes it out that door after all.  Wherever Lily goes, Amelia will follow!
