Jolly Jumpers Rock! (Week 21)

Do not look too closely, but I think Lily can walk!!! She is a superstar :)

Lily first tried out her new jolly jumper in mid-February. She was a little tentative at first (it was more of a jolly "stander" than a jolly "jumper"), but she soon got the hang of it.

"I'm not soo sure about this mommy...why aren't you holding me?"

"Wait a minute, this isn't so bad"...

..."In fact, it's kinda fun..."

..."kinda really fun!!"

"It gives me freedom, while also allowing me to pose ever-so-cutely for my admirers."

"Mommy seems to like it too!"

"Hello my adoring fans."

"Hi daddy!! I like your camera :) "

Auntie Jill and Auntie Cindy Babysit Again (Week 19)

Mommy and Daddy come home from taking a full-day first aid course and hear giggling coming from inside the apartment...Lily has *exploded* - which requires a full costume change. Cindy is brave!! If only we had arrived 10 minutes earlier she might have been spared the trauma...

Cindy and Jill.....happy the ordeal is over...

...and looking forward to the next adventure with Lily!

Sleeping, Sitting and Playing (Week 18 to 20)

Lily likes hanging out on the rug with her "Whoozit" (her favourite toy at this point).

Hmmm...she seems to have a building growing out of her head.

She has adopted a new sleeping style. First she blows bubbles to let us know that she wants to lay down. The bubbles get louder and more intense, the more tired she is. Then the right hand goes behind her head, often followed by the left.

The bubble-blowing face relaxes as she falls deeper into sleep...

...and then she's out like a little light.

Naked baby alert!!!

"One Sock Lily" we call her. She likes to recline on daddy's tummy.

She is becoming quite adept at using the remote. Oh great! One more person for mommy to compete with for control of the television programming :)

This is the scene mommy is greeted with upon coming home from being out for dinner with a friend. It is waaaay past Lily's bedtime, but she seems content to hang out with daddy.

She asks for, and receives, a change of scenery.

Here we are again...one of her favourite locations in the house. As evidenced by the soaking wet bib, she has become quite the little drool-monster.

Good morning, little sleepyhead!!

It looks like you enjoy getting up in the morning about as much as mommy does :)

Mommy teaches Lily the importance of a daily moisturizing routine.

Lily is still going through her "I want to be naked" phase.

Where's Lily?

There she is!!

Colleen comes for a visit, and Zan drops by. Lily doesn't bother getting up to greet them...she is quite happy letting them come to her so they can shower her with the appropriate attention.

Lounging Lily (Week 17)

While she isn't quite sitting up on her own yet, she can definitely sit with the assistance of some pillows. Lily likes to hang out in the bedroom when mommy is folding laundry. Mommy is trying to convince her that it is fun. Lily does not look convinced.

"Look, mommy...daddy has come to help!"

"Just jokes, there's nobody there...I didn't think you'd actually believe me :)"

She's kicked off one sock and is struggling to get the other one off. We're fastening her into the swing these days so she doesn't wriggle out the bottom.

"Playing with Mr. Turtle and my red star has tuckered me out."

Tannis, Diana (holding Lily), Camille, Sarah and Leanne - Lily provides her views and opinions on the latest literary work we've read for book club. She also learns a very important lesson - that book club meetings involve 90% eating and drinking and 10% actually discussing books :)

More and more, Lily likes to be naked. Hmmmm......

Playing with mommy on the floor.

Lily likes watching her fishy friends in the tank daddy set up, so we've permanently parked the stroller in front of it 'cause it is exactly the right height for her viewing pleasure.

She talks to the fishes and sometimes sings to them.

She gets a little confused, though, when they don't talk back....

After awhile of them not talking to her, she gets quite agitated and just starts yelling at them, which is how we know it's time for her to go somewhere else...like her bouncy chair...where she talks to Mr. Turtle and Mr. Ducky, and gets equally frustrated with their lack of communication.

She knows mommy will always talk to her, though, so that makes her happy.

She has tried having a conversation with her crazy "Whoozit" toy, but that has also been unsuccessful.

She does, however, appreciate the fact that his nose squeaks.

"Fishes AND mommy...this is awesome!!

"Wheee!"

Lily likes to hang out with daddy on Saturday morning and watch cartoons.

She is not impressed with all of them...

...but she does enjoy Spongebob Squarepants.

She is also getting much more comfortable with having a camera in her face 24/7 :)
