The Days Before Lily's Birthday (Week 52)

Mommy just bought a brand new bottle of tiny silver sugar balls to use as decorations on cookies, and Lily found them and thought it would be fun to turn the bottle upside down and pour them all over the floor...

...yep, lots of fun!!!

"Mommy, why aren't you as excited as I am??"

Lily meets Auntie Jody's new baby girl...little Emersyn. Lily wants to touch tiny Emmy to say hi.

Lily visits mommy in the kitchen while she is baking...

...but when it's time to start using the oven, we have to put up the gate.

At first Lily is content to hang out on the other side of the action and drink her water...

...but eventually, she and daddy are both sad that they are on the *outside* looking in.

Daddy's little girl.

Daddy's little girl is a bit of an explorer...

"Who, me? What did I do?"

Lily's favourite things are mommy's and daddy's electronic devices.

"Oh, hi! Good morning."

This is what happens when daddy tries to do Lily's hair.

Lily *helps* mommy fold laundry.

Mommy decides trying to fold laundry with Lily is in the room is futile, and realizes that throwing heaps of clean laundry on her is much more fun. For everyone!

Lily agrees. Much more fun.

Especially cause there are so many hugs and snuggles involved.

"Mommy, can I go outside?"

"Pleeeease?"

"Ok then, if I can't go outside, I'll just have to play with your electronic devices some more."

Lily loves to look at flowers....

"Mommy always steers the stroller close to them so I can touch them."

"I also reaaaaly like waterfalls."

"But flowers are easier and softer to touch."

"Oooh...another one of my favourite things to do!"

"Woo hoo!!"

"More, mommy, more!"

"Yaaay, Baba, this is so much fun!"

"Mommy and me."

"Me and mommy."

"My favouritest person to swing with."

"It was a most excellent day."

Lily Goes to Daycare! (Week 50 & 51)

Lily takes a bath to get clean for her first day in the infant program at Dorothy Lam Children's Centre. The bedtime routine gets a little sidetracked as Lily decides she wants to read some books. Naked.

"I'm freeeeee!"

"Those pesky clothese can be so uncomfortable sometimes....this is muuuuch better."

Lily wakes up happy on September 1st. We're off to a good start.

It's always a challenge when the camera gets too close to busy fingers.

"Whoa!"

Mommy packs Lily's backpack to take to daycare, and makes sure her phone is charged. Lily supervises. She is a good little supervisor.

"Hahaha! OK let's go!"
By the third day of daycare, Lily is still smiling...not so much smiling when we drop her off (at first, that is....she's pretty excited to go there now) and smiling when we pick her up. Perfect!!!!

Her shy side makes a reappearance :)

Nana & Grampa Jim Come to Visit the Bug (Week 49)

Nana & Grampa Jim come for a visit, and Lily hangs out in the hallway checking them out...she can be a little shy, sometimes.

She approaches slowly...

...and stops to further assess the situation.

Nana & Grampa entice her with some bubbles.

It doesn't take long for Lily to climb into Nana's lap...

...and act like a little goof.

Lily continues to make progress with her yoga skills.

Back to being a goof :)

The bubble blowing goes outside onto the patio...

Auntie Jill comes to play, too!

Lily helps Nana and Uncle Matt blow out the candles on their birthday cake.

"Heh, heh, heh!"

"Babababawa!" We're not sure what that means, but we are certain it is something totally brilliant.

"Do you like my little pink shoe?"

"I think Grampa would look pretty like me if he wore it on his head!"

"Yo, yo, yo! I've got this holding the bottle thing dooooown."

"Thanks for all the fabulous books, Nana."

Lily demonstrates one of her new moves....the "hurdle stretch." Apparently she finds this comfortable. We can't imagine how.

"Higher Grampa Jim, higher!"

"You are a very fun ride!"

Lily cheers on Nana and Grampa's game of computer solitaire.

Lily mooches off of everyone's plates to snag a pancake breakfast.

She manages to cobble together a very fine meal, indeed.

Skyping with Family in Winnipeg (Week 49)

It was Great Baba & Gido's 60th wedding anniversary, so mommy and Lily call everybody who's staying at Baba & Grampa Hunter's in Winnipeg for the party on Skype...Lily got dressed in a pretty party dress and matching leggings and shoes for the occasion :)

And there they are!!

Woo hoo!

It's Grampa Hunter, Great Uncle John, Baba, Great Auntie Nel, Great Gido and Great Baba!

"Hi everyone! Do you like my pink comb?"

"It's the best comb ever. It's so nice to see you all!"
