Family Time in Kelowna June, 2011

Getting geared up for a bikeride with Grampa Jim.

Heading down the steep driveway...

...Mommy and Nana look on.

Lily is excited about the upcoming adventure.

Maybe they should have packed a lunch??

No need - Lily and Grampa return after 15 minutes from a short little jaunt.

Baba comes from her job in Vernon to join us for dinner and a visit.

Lily likes salad! Who knew?

She likes it alot.

A REAL lot!!

Apparently she likes corn on the cob, too!

And even likes to eat is like a grown-up.

Lily helps with the chores.

Sweeping is one of her many skills.

Doing it with a little pink broom probably makes it even more fun. Mommy is going to try that too, when we get home. Anything to make sweeping more fun is worth a shot.

Reading with Grampa. Everyone should learn more about life on the farm. It has a lot to teach us :)

Lily sits down for a rest with some of her friends.

A refreshing yogurt drink makes a very good snack.

We took Lily to the park one day, and Daddy and Grampa were playing tennis on a nearby court. Lily decided she wanted to play, too. The next series of pictures clearly demonstrate that Lily is a natural at the game and has the required enthusiasm, talent and potential to become a future tennis champ.

Stanley Cup Final

We gather together during the Stanley Cup playoffs for every game.

Vancouver and Boston eventually get down to the final game, being played in Vancouver. Daddy and Lily wear their team jerseys and make their predictions known to the camera.

We chow down on pizza and watch the game expectantly. Go, Canucks, go!!

Unfortunately, victory eludes Vancouver this time. Daddy and Lily drown their sorrows in their respective beverages.

Family Time

Mommy blows bubbles at George Wainborn park...

...and Lily chases them!

She gets quite excited...

...and decides she wants to try blowing them herself.

This does not work out quite as she had planned. More bubbles end up on her face than in the air!

After a hard morning of blowing bubbles, Daddy gives Lily a lift home.

Silly Lily

Lily finds a comfortable place to sit....Mommy's face! Niiiiice.

"Hi Mommy! I'm yelling in your face just in case you didn't notice me when I was sitting on it!"

Lily finds a fun *toy* to play with. Criteria for fun toys include those which are expensive, those which are breakable, and those which Mommy and Daddy really don't want her to play with. She seems to have radar for finding these kinds of objects very quickly as soon as they are left unattended.

"No, but seriously, don't you think these totally suit me?"

"All right!!"

Lily is a tummy sleeper, just like Mommy. But the butt in the air thing is unique to her :)

Everyone has their own idea of what's comfortable, I guess.....

Lily and Turtle. He doesn't get to sleep in bed with her 'cause frankly he takes up too much room, but he likes to come in for a snuggle when she wakes up.

Baba's Visit in May

A cool customer.....just chillin' at the park under the Cambie Bridge.

Baba pushes Lily on the swing.

Time for a horsey ride.

It's more fun when Daddy is on the back!!

Easter egg hunt X 2! We thought we'd do it again with Baba since we had so much fun the first time!!

At first, Lily is confused about why there are little coloured eggs on the floor.

She soon catches on to the game, however.

Baba helps her find one....

...and then another.

Lily concentrates hard on trying to open the large plastic eggs to reveal smaller ones inside.

Thankfully for Mommy and Daddy she never does figure out that the foil wrapped eggs are edible chocolate. One Easter down without having to deal with a small child on a sugar high. Yeah!

Another day, another playground!! This time we're at the park on Davie & Richards.

"Thanks for pushing me, Baba!"

"This is the best!"

A perfect way....

...to end the morning at the park.

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Daddy's birthday cake is so tempting for little eyes and tummies. It's so unfair that toddlers have such short arms...

Lily helps daddy untie the ribbon on his birthday present.

She is very excited for him to see his gift!

"I hope you like it, Daddy! Mommy and I picked out this watch 'specially for you!"

Me & My Daddy!!

"Oh hi, Daddy! Just thought I'd drop by for a visit."

"Just thought maybe I could stand on your shoulders for a minutes."

"Or maybe your lap."

"Oh wait, I'm losing my balance..."

"Going, going...."

"Gone!!"
