Lily & her Baby

Lily invites Amelia to join her in her bed...
She thinks it's pretty awesome to have a real live baby in her bed along with her baby dolly and all her other "friends"!
Lily likes to hold her baby. She thinks it's very funny when Amelia reaches out and grabs her face, and giggles when she gets a fistful of hair. Unless it's a really big fistful and Amelia is pulling very hard....then Lily says "Baby let go of my hair please!"
Lily likes to hold Amelia's hands and brings her toys to play with when she is sad. She is a good big sister :)

Mommy & the Girls

Saturday morning - Lily has her pink dress on and Amelia is fed and raring to go...
...Lily, however, is quite happy to stay snuggled on the couch so we hang out there for awhile.
Weekday morning - the sun hasn't come up yet and the girls sit with Mommy while she wakes up with her hot chocolate.

Weekday evening - Lily puts on her new red polka dot dress as soon as she gets home from school and spends some time with Mommy and little sister. Lily has inherited her distaste for wearing pants from her Daddy who also sheds his as soon as he walks in the door and swaps them for shorts.
One Sunday morning we make a bed in the living room and all three of us girls play on the floor.
Mommy gives Lily a hug before Daddy takes her to school. She is fond of saying "Bye bye Sweetie Mommy" and "Bye bye Sweetie Baby."
The bug gives her little sister a goodbye hug, too.

Lily *Sleeps* in a Big Bed...

Lily likes to pretend to sleep in Mommy & Daddy's bed...
In order to do this she has to boot Daddy out of bed so there is room for her. She tells him that with him in the bed there is "no space for Lily."
Clearly she thinks this is hilarious. Daddy disagrees.

Daddy & his Girls

Daddy peeks out from behind Amelia...
"Oh, hello!"
A bird's eye view of Amelia from Daddy's perspective.
Squirmy baby wriggles in her spot.
"Help, Daddy, I've fallen and I can't get up!"
Daddy & his girls like to spend time on the couch together...
...we have many similar pictures from different days.
Lily is starting to really enjoy holding "her baby". Until Amelia gets squirmy. And then she wants to give her back.
Self-portrait of Daddy and baby.
"Good morning everybody!" Lily and Amelia *help* Daddy work on his computer at the dining room table.

Amelia

Late in January Amelia's first two teeth pop up on the bottom. She is reluctant to display them for the camera...
...but we persevere and finally get the picture!
Amelia is mesmerized by the spinning stars on top of her pink swing...
...she can watch them for minutes. We wish she could watch them for hours.
While Mommy does laundry, Amelia practices rocking back and forth on the hallway floor.
She looks up to see if we are watching...
...and slowly starts the roll over onto her tummy.
When Amelia wakes up after a nap and is feeling well rested, this is the happy little face we are greeted by.
Mommy and Meelie.
Meelie is happy in her bouncy chair...
...but usually only for about 20 mins, and then she starts to get a little less happy.
Amelia pulls up the legs of her pants so she can get a little air on her legs.
Amelia practices her yoga in her bouncy chair.
...she tries really really hard to get ahold of both sets of toes...
...and finally grasps both feet at the same time. She is very proud!
And then she gets a little frustrated that she hasn't quite figured out how to let go :)

Lily

Lily's school picture - we call it "portrait of a happy little bug."
The gang at daycare:
Back Row: Wilma, Karen, Olga, Grace
Third Row: Kaiona, Everly, Alexandru, Zak
Second Row: Gigi, Isla, Theresa
Front Row: Leah, Lily!, Marlowe, Mattias, Lilia, Jason
Lily riding one of her favorite "motorcycles". While wearing her favourite skirt, of course :)
We are glad that Lily likes to play with water. We'd be happier if she didn't enjoy overflowing the sink quite so much.
Lily disagrees. She thinks overflowing sinks are fantastic.
Lily finds an alternate purpose for her pink motorcycle at home.
Lily the "meow meow" shovelling blueberries into her mouth.
Smiling meow meow.
Lily relocates all her "friends" from her bedroom onto the living room loveseat.
Uncle Shaun supervises the relocation.
Lily concludes, "I have lots and lots of things!"
