Expressions!! (Weeks 10, 11 & 12)

Posing for pictures to use on the Lily-mugs (Christmas gifts). Lily is starting to get the hang of this!! Daddy brings out the camera, and she knows what to do.

See what I mean?

"I am too cute."

"I just have problems sitting up on my own..."

She's going....going.....

...and she's down.

We had to get a new swaddler 'cause she outgrew the pink one...the "little pink burrito" is now the "little green sushi roll."

Not sure who is having more fun here...

Lily learns to wave hello.

The view mommy and daddy see every day. Lily keeps an eye out for potential bottle bandits...we all know how much she covets her milk...

"What's goin' on?"

Hangin' out with mommy.

Uncle Bulent drops by for a visit.

Lily - in a milk induced coma :)

The milk injector and his l'il "victim."

Daddy showing Lily something on the laptop. It must be very interesting. And educational, I'm sure.

"Ahhhh...I missed my Auntie Camille."

"I'll show her how much I love her by sprawling in her lap and taking one of my infamous naps."

Down at eye level during tummy-time.

She's little, but she can take up half the couch.

Daddy is surprised and happy she has taken a break from chowing down so he can rest, too :)

Auntie Sarah comes for a visit and snuggles the "bug."

The sushi roll wakes up!

"Whoa daddy, you have such long arms."

"What is this thing they call a tv?"

"Those crazy Simpsons..."

"They make me laugh!"

Daddy plays peekaboo.

A contented little Lily.

Bakefest 2009! (Week 9)

November 21 - Getting ready to take Lily on the ferry over to Vancouver Island to join Jody and Lori for "Bakefest 2009" at Jody's house - an annual 2-day marathon in the kitchen where we jointly do all our Christmas baking. Good times!! Lily needs her own suitcase :)

Day 1 - Shortly after we arrive, Lily settles in on Auntie Lori's lap.

Yep - she's out like a little pink light.

She wakes up long enough to transfer over to Auntie Jody...

"That ferry trip was exhausting, mom! I sure like it here. Need to rest up for the big day tomorrow!"

Day 2 - Lily takes a little break after we get started. Despite the pictures on this blog that make it seem like Lily slept a good portion of the time, that is most definitely NOT the case....she wanted to be in on the action in the kitchen and everytime she was layed down, she reminded us in very clear terms that she wanted to be included in what the big girls were doing. And sooo.................

.............we take turns holding little Lily-bug while we are stirring, folding, rolling and baking.

Lily is paying close attention to what we're doing....and soon she is ready to get in there and help.
She wields a wooden spoon like a pro!!! We think she probably inherited some stellar baking genes :) She also knows it is uber chic to match your outfit to your mixing bowl.

The smile on her little face says it all!!!

"Not only am I a good stirrer, I can hold the bottle with my own suction!" The girl's got skills.

"Whew it was a hard day!! Just need a little nap..."

Lily soon sucks Lori into the nap vortex and the two of them relax on the couch, with visions of hundreds of cookies, bars and slices, dancing in their heads.

Lily told me she is already counting down the days 'til Bakefest 2010. She also asked me if she could have a funky apron to wear next year.

Mommy's Birthday & Other Stuff (Week 8)

November 9 - Mommy's birthday. She already got the best birthday present ever (and she's about 13 lbs now and goes by the names "Lily-bug," "Li'l Jellybean," "Monkey-head," and "Goober") - you have to say the last one with love in your voice and then it makes sense)....but mommy also got the best birthday dinner ever - daddy went and picked up take-out from Steppho's Greek Restaurant. Mmmmmm lamb souvlaki and moussaka!

A fabulous triple layer cake from Nester's Market. The cake was too small to fit all 39 candles, but mommy is grateful for that :)

Mommy didn't have a chance to do her hair and look pretty, but Lily puts on a party dress and shoes for the special occasion, and looks like a little lady.

Cecilia comes for a visit. She shows mommy different things the bouncy chair toys do that mommy never noticed before!

Look at how tall the little bug is now!! She's grown another inch.

Burp time!

"Oh hi!!!" Lily is getting curious about the camera, since she sees it so often!

"Just give me 5 more seconds...the burp is coming, I can feel it."

One of Dylan's famous self-portraits. We need a new camera with a wider lens to accomodate an additional little person.

After a bath. If her little head is covered, a scream explosion can often be averted.
Squeezing the excess water out of Lily's 25 little hairs :)

All wrapped up and ready to go snuggle.
