Sunday BBQ! (Week 43)

Auntie Jill occupies the bug while mommy and daddy get ready for the BBQ.

"Ooooooohhhhh!"

"Aaaaaahhhh!"

"Wanna see my belly??"

Lily shows Uncle Matt one of her soft books.

Auntie Camille's lap is one of her favourite places to be.

Auntie Diana "milks" Lily and puts her to bed with Eyore and Bedtime Bear...

While Nader, Shawn, Camille, Jill, Matt, Bulet and John hang out on the patio.

After her nap, Lily comes back to join the gang outside.

And snuggles up with Auntie Jill again :)

Lily, Lily, Everywhere (Week 42)

Lily is stumped by why the blocks keep falling down. It may because she keeps pushing them. Just a guess.

She is very proud of the tower she helped mommy build. Now it's time to push them down again.

Daddy and Lily spot imminent danger...

They are concerned...

But then they realize there is nothing to worry about...

They feel silly for having being scared for nothing...turns out it was just an imaginary monster on Scooby Doo.

" It's allllll good :)"

Mommy takes a break and rests her back, while Lily continues with her very busy schedule of pushing and pulling things around.

All that work makes for a messy bug....bathtime!

Busy bugs also get very hungry and thirsty. It's important to keep hydrated.

Lily joins mommy and daddy at a BBQ at Uncle Bulent's house. She has decided she wants to sit at the table with the big people and chow down on everything on other peoples' plates. She enjoys sticky rice.

Like really, really enjoys it!

Lily goes for a little after dinner walk. Er, crawl.

She makes her way into the living room where she finds the other dinner guests.

There are no words for this one!

Lily's got skills. First she shows off her head-standing ability...

Then moves on to a full upside down hang.

Lily is very tired from having entertained everyone at dinner. She conks out in her carseat on the way home.

"Yo, yo, yo!!! Do you like my butterfly hat??"

"How about this teddy-bear-on-the-head look??"

Lily the Explorer (Week 40 & 41)

Some of Lily's favourite toys come from the kitchen...she's particularly fond of mixing bowls. That's our girl!

Heading out for a day of exploring...

She thinks her high chair is pretty cool. Except when it rolls away from her....not so cool.

Mommy only gets to wear jewellry on special occasions...

And this is why!! Lily likes to eat jewellry. And cell phones. And computer mouses. And diet pepsi cans. She does not discriminate.

Ooooh...pretty!

But not as pretty as a Lily :)

Lily brings daddy his father's day present - a box of candy wrapped in new boxer shorts. Sweet!

She thinks it's important to taste taste the pavlova mommy made for daddy on father's day - just to make sure it is up to standard.

This is the sight we are greeted with these days after Lily's naps.

Lily in her "cherry blossom" outfit. Very chic.

Lily figures out how to *walk* by sliding the laundry basket down the hallway. Very creative, she is.

Auntie Diana comes for a visit.

Goin' for a walk one evening on the seawall. We are hoping we don't get stopped by homeland security, due to daddy's clever *disguise*.

Lily and Uncle Keith take in the sunset.
She is very pleased with the most excellent view.

"Hey! Are you guys seeing this??"
"Just making sure you are all still there..."

Daddy shows Lily how to make a toy guy out of mega blocks. Oh joy!

Goin' to Kelowna (Week 38 & 39)

June, 2010 - We stop at a rest stop on the way to Kelowna. Mommy is going to a cabin for a little vacation with her bookclub, and daddy is taking Lily to see Nana and Grampa Couper.

Lily decides she likes mommy's shirt. A lot, apparently!

There's the tongue again! Always with the tongue when the camera comes out.

Lily sees a puppy and her attention goes there. She is fascinated by puppies. And other babies!

"Thank you for getting all these new books for me from the library, Nana!"

"I like it when we read together!"

Lily stares the camera down. Clearly she hasn't internalized all "100 ways to make a baby smile" listed in the book beside her.

Lily turns to daddy to ask if she can have some cake.

"Daddy said yes, Nana! Yum!"

Lily. The Cheerio queen. She leaves them everywhere she goes. The ones that don't make it into her mouth, that is.

"Can I see the real estate section, Nana? I want to see how housing prices in Kelowna compare to those in Vancouver."

"Hi Grampa. Do you loves me??"

"Cause I loves you and Nana very much. See? I'll hold your finger."

Lily gets ready to go with daddy to visit mommy at the cabin she is at with her friends. She thinks maybe it's too warm for socks today.

"Wow mommy! You have a nice view from the deck of this cabin you are staying at!"

Mommy seriously injures her back trying to move a couch at the cabin while Lily and daddy are visiting. She is forced to cut her vacation short and head back to Kelowna to convalesce on the floor of Nana and Grampa's house. Lily likes to visit mommy on her living room bed.

Or maybe she is just trying to climb over mommy so she can see what is on the other side :)

"Look at me! I am learning how to stand!"

Lily reads a magazine while mommy rests.

"Wheee!!! I can make splashes with my feet!!"

Lily explores the kitchen.

She makes a break for it out the back door....but Nana and Grampa catch her before she gets too far.

"Who me? I was just checking out the compost bin. Honest. I wasn't making a run for it."

"Hmmmm...what can I do with this???"

"Try to eat it!!"

Lily helps daddy open his birthday present.

She is a good little helper, indeed.

"HA!!!"

It's almost bedtime....Lily brushes her teach while Grampa reads.

But first...a little nightcap before she retires. Just kidding...she only licked the edge of the glass :)

"I love barbecues on the patio!"

Lily is still mastering the use of her sippy cup. She usually gets more water on herself than she does in her mouth. But she has fun trying!!

"Hi mommy! Look...I am getting better at it!"

Mommy claps for Lily. Just because :)

"Hi daddy. Can I touch the lens of your camera? Please? I promise my hands aren't all sticky with rice crackers and chicken."

"Ha ha!!! I will get your camera yet!"

"Maybe you hadn't noticed, but I am very, VERY persistent!"

Nana and Grampa bounce Lily in a blanket.

It's hard to tell, but I think she likes it!

"What is this thing they call a mouse??"

Mommy shows Lily one of the library books Nana brought home.

"Daddy, why is mommy wearing a donkey on her face??"

Lily supervises the washing machine. Watching it makes the clothes cleaner. That's a scientific fact.

"Do you like my roller? I'm gonna look even prettier when I'm finished my bath. Thank you Nana!"

Lily finds some *musical instruments* in the kitchen.

Lily checks out the swinging wicker chair in Auntie Jill's room. She likes it.
